  • Are there other ways outside of tutoring that I can get involved?
Yes – UQRTC also collaborates with other refugee-based groups in the Brisbane area for fundraising and community-building. We welcome students who do not wish to tutor to still take part in our social fundraising and awareness-raising events. We also offer a range of executive positions regarding the organisation and running of the club were you can get more closely involved in the leadership and management without necessarily having to tutor.
  • I have an idea, suggestion or potential organisation which I feel may benefit the club?
Amazing! We are always looking for feedback and ways to expand our outreach to the wider community and improve the experience of our club members. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated under the president email available below.
  • Do I need tutoring experience to be a volunteer?
Not at all! While prior experience can come in handy, we welcome all UQ students interested in tutoring subjects they are proficient in and provide induction workshops to all new tutors. If you don't feel prepared, send us a message and we are happy to assist in any way to adequately train you to feel confident and comfortable in a tutoring position.
  • Do I need a blue card?
All tutors must have Blue Cards to tutor with us. However, simply access the blue card Queensland website, sign up for the necessary steps and we can provide approval for your application without any charge to you.
